Sandford Dementia Garden, Somerset
We have designed, and implemented, new gardens for a specialist dementia unit for the St Monica Trust. The gardens are laid out in a circular path with inter-connecting routes, allowing residents to wander without ever coming to a dead end. The planting concept is based on the journey of life, from birth to death, with plants selected on the basis of colour, form, scent and interest. Other features include an aviary, archways and a miniature allotment garden complete with raised beds and a potting shed.
